What gear do we need to bring for diving?

You will need your mask fins regulator and bc I supply the tanks weights and weight belts for the dive.

What are the depths for the sharks tooth dive?

The depth varies from our most shallow spot being 15 feet to our deepest around 36 feet. It’s a very comfortable dive.

How long do sharks tooth dives last?

Because everyone has different bottom times from 40 minutes to 90 minutes we keep everyone at a 60 minute bottom time that way everyone has equal tooth-hunting time. We’re flexible if your crew wants to divvy time differently.

What is the visibility typically like for the sharks tooth dive?

It varies from day to day and week to week, but this is not typically a high visibility dive. Our average visibility is about 8 to 10 feet with some more exceptional days on occasion with 15+ feet and some of our lower visibility days can be 3 to 5 feet. We will not book a trip if visibility goes below 3 to 5 feet.

Do I need to bring a dive flag?

No, you will not need to carry a dive flag with you on the dive. We have one flying high on the boat at all times, however, if you chose to do so you are welcome to bring your own.

How many people are on the boat?

We can take up to 6 people with our license so there is never more then 6 divers or 6 people fishing on the boat.

What happens if the weather is bad?

If the weather prevents us from making a trip, there is no charge and you can reschedule at anytime. Typically I will know a day or two in advance if the conditions will be acceptable or not and inform you ahead of our scheduled departure.

What should we bring on the boat?

I supply plenty of water. I also have sunscreen available on the boat as well. You can bring whatever you would like to eat for lunch and/or snacks. We have a cooler with ice to keep items cold. If you have a problem with getting sea sick we would recommend taking Dramamine and bringing some with as well for precautionary measures. We also recommend a hat or some UV protective clothing it does get hot in the summer and the sun is dangerous year-round.

How long is the fossil dive?

The day is generally altogether, about 5 hours.

What kind of boat do you run?

We run a new 32 foot Boston Whaler Outrage with twin 275 mercury outboard.

Do I need my own fishing gear for fishing?

No. We supply all the rods and reels, tackle, bait, and ice for the day. You are welcome to bring your own rod if you would like.

What do I need to bring for spearfishing?

Bring your dive gear, mask, fins, BC regulator, spear gun, and stringer for fish. I supply tanks and weights for the dive.

Do I need a Florida fishing license?

No. You do not need a fishing license. We cover that as part of the charter.

Do I need to be dive certified?

Yes. You must be dive certified and have a valid dive card to dive.

Do you dive with us as a guide?

No, I do not dive with the customers typically. However, (if customers would like me too) I can dive with the customers if they are not comfortable in the water or need assistance hunting.

How long is the boat ride to the sharks tooth spot?

It’s about a 20 – 25 minute boat ride down the coast to our spots (which are around 1 to 2 miles offshore).

How do we get into the water off the boat before diving?

Most people back roll off the side but you can also do a giant stride off the back. Whatever is more comfortable or preferable for you.
